NCAA logoIt's been an exciting week for Ithaca College athletics, with four teams selected so far to compete in upcoming NCAA tournaments!

The Ithaca College women's golf squad earned an at-large selection to the championship tournament in Florida, where they will be one of 21 teams competing. It's the first such honor for the team, in just its fifth year of full varsity competition. The championships will be conducted May 13-16 at the El Campeon Golf Course at the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.

The men's lacrosse team has been picked to host a first-round playoff game in the NCAA Championship Tournament. The Bombers will host Montclair State on Wednesday, May 7 at 4 p.m. at Higgins Stadium, Ithaca College. The winner of that game will travel to Rochester Institute of Technology, who earned a first-round bye, on Saturday, May 10. Live stats, a live webstream and a WICB Radio broadcast will be available for Wednesday's game.

The softball team earned automatic qualification into the 2014 NCAA Division III championship tournament and will host a regional tournament this weekend at IC's Kostrinsky Field that also includes Rowan, Oneonta, and Penn State-Altoona. In the opening games of the double-elimination regional, Ithaca will take on Penn State-Altoona and Oneonta will face Rowan.

And the women's tennis team earned automatic qualification to the 2014 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship as champions of the Empire 8 conference, and found out yesterday that they will compete in a first-round tournament match against the College of Staten Island this Friday, May 9. The six-team regional is hosted by Williams. It is the team's eighth consecutive trip to the NCAAs.
