Daniel Haack ’10
Outstanding Young Alumni Award

Daniel Haack’s path to success as a young alumnus started well before graduation. A Park Scholar, Daniel was awarded a fellowship with the International Radio & Television Society to study with Viacom’s Logo channel and Walt Disney Studios. He also held internships at Channel Four in London, Wisconsin Public Television, Three Ball Entertainment, and the Center for Media and Democracy. Daniel graduated with a degree in integrated marketing communications, and was later named a Saul Zaentz Fellow in the technology, innovation, and education Ed.M. program at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
Today, Daniel is a leading children’s media executive, most recently serving as head of marketing and digital product with StoryBots. Daniel has overseen the launch of StoryBots Classroom, a free platform for educators, as well as the premieres of two original StoryBots series on Netflix. As part of the team behind StoryBots’ digital platforms, Daniel won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactive Media and was a Webby Award nominee in the Websites – Youth category.
Daniel is the author of Prince & Knight, an LGBTQ-themed fairy tale picture book published worldwide. Prince & Knight was a Goodreads Choice Awards nominee and was named one of the best children’s books of 2018 by Amazon, Kirkus Reviews, and the Chicago Tribune. Maiden & Princess, which Daniel co-authored with fellow IC alum Isabel Galupo ’14, was named to Book Riot’s list of best books of 2019.
A two-time cancer survivor, Daniel has been active in fundraising efforts for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Stupid Cancer.
