Meet Camille Doherty '93

Where do you live?Camille Doherty '93

I have been a proud New York City Resident all my life.  I was born in the Bronx, forged in Brooklyn, educated in Manhattan and then polished to perfection in Queens.  I call St. Albans Queens my home.

What do you do for work currently?

I am currently serving a Senior Release Train Engineer at Cox Communications aka Dealertrack.

As a Senior Release Train Engineer (RTE) my primary purpose is to lead Agile Release Trains (ART) to success and navigate the complexity of delivering software consistently in large environments. I help my 14 to 17 Scrum Teams resolve and escalate impediments, manage risk, assures value delivery, and drives program-level continuous improvement. I am that cross team component that plays a critical link between multiple scrum teams; facilitating communications, opening the flow of information, and sharing important progress updates to ensure all teams involved in the ART are focused on successful delivery.

What did you learn at IC that helped you get to where you are today (personally or professionally)?

Ithaca College empowered me to believe in myself and cultivate so many skills I took for granted.  I came in as a strong-willed freshman from New York City who was open to learning more about the world outside of her box.  With a desire to help others and learn more about the world we live in, I majored in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Health.  As an active member and board member of several orgs ALS, Amani, Kuumba Repertory Theater, a Student Justice, A Big Brother Big Sister at GIAC, and an RA,  my extracurricular activities shaped and prepared me to pivot in my personal and professional spaces.

How did you get involved with IC after graduating (did you volunteer? Did you speak in a classroom? Attend events?)?

My involvement with Ithaca College over the years was limited to the IC Unity events locally or via Facebook.  Meeting up with local Alumni or connecting with our families.  I would work with youth in my community and always push Ithaca College for a place to call home away from home.  In 2022 my involvement with the IC changed or evolved when my daughter made her decision to call Ithaca College Home!

I love being back on campus and being asked key questions like What Do We Do Next?  I am so happy to say whatever you want because the world is yours to create because everything you need is here.

Why do you LOVE IC?

It was my time at Ithaca College that taught me to take charge of the chapters in my story.  It was my time on South Hill that instilled in me that Representation Matters and when we silence our voice, we omit ourselves from our own history.

Ithaca College gave me the community I needed to succeed in, long after I left the campus.  My life and my children’s lives are so blessed with their Ithaca College aunts and uncles.
