Meet Reggie Bradford '91

Where do you live?

Higganum CT

What do you do for work currently?

Trebel Music Director of Business Development

What did you learn at IC that helped you get to where you are today (personally or professionally)?

I was a History major with a minor in communications and creative writing class of 91. I played Football, Lacrosse and Rugby. As well as perused my love of music as a DJ for WICB. All of those experiences and friendships played a major role in my career and success in life. I would not have worked at MTVN for 8 years had it not been for a fellow alum who befriended me as a freshman. I would not have worked at Verizon for 10 years had it not been for Gary Gilbert, a fellow teammate who opened the door. The recording studio at the Park School of Communication is why I have my own home studio today.

How did you get involved with IC after graduating (did you volunteer? Did you speak in a classroom? Attend events?)

Went to my reunion in 2015-2016 and have come back every year since. Most recently attended the Cortaca Jug game in NJ and served on a panel for networking and career development.

Why do you LOVE IC?

I was born in Ithaca in 1968 while my Father was attending Cornell. Ithaca College was the only school that had recruited me for football so I returned for a visit to speak to coach Larry Czarnecki (RIP) at Butterfield Stadium. After meeting the coaches and watching a highlight film my Dad and I headed back to CT. On the way to the car two students greeted my father and I and said "hi." They asked me if I was coming to IC to play football and said they hoped to see me on campus in the coming year. I told my Dad right there and then "I'm going to Ithaca College."

I had never been greeted with such a warm welcome, so it was an easy choice. I didn't even see the rest of the campus until I attended the HEOP program.

Not every day was Unicorns and Rainbows but I loved Ithaca College. I got to play for Coach Butterfield and become a National Champion. I made friendships that have lasted a lifetime and it's a school that has never stopped welcoming me back since that first visit.
