Meet Riley Ludwig '18

Where do you live?Riley Ludwig '18

I live in Brooklyn, New York! Originally from the Albany, New York area.

What do you do for work currently?

I am a Media Manager at FanDuel, where I work on marketing efforts across YouTube and social media platforms.

What did you learn at IC that helped you get to where you are today (personally or professionally)?

Ithaca College gave me the autonomy, experience, and confidence to pursue a variety of interests within communications. These opportunities translated to internships, which led to my very first job in the industry after graduation. Collaboration is key, and I'm excited to continue collaborating with other Ithaca alums as a member of the Board of Directors!

How did you get involved with IC after graduating (did you volunteer? Did you speak in a classroom? Attend events?)?

I've been able to stay involved with Ithaca by keeping in touch with professors and speaking to classes about how my Ithaca experience translated to post-grad opportunities. I've also attended several alumni events in NYC, including Networking Nights, Cortaca watch parties, Cortaca at MetLife in 2019, and Cortaca at Yankee Stadium in 2022! Above all, I have a sister who is a student at Ithaca, and am getting to experience Ithaca as a relative of a student this time around, which has been a really lovely experience.

Why do you LOVE IC?

Ithaca's prevalence in my life isn't limited to my four years on campus. I love it because it's had a continued presence throughout many elements of my post-grad life- from friendships that have been maintained that are going on a decade of existence, to continuously meeting people through work or out in the world who have some connection to South Hill. For a school that can feel smaller compared to other larger universities, Ithaca shows up constantly in ways that can surprise me, and I'm always thrilled that I get to call myself a Bomber. I'm very grateful for the way that Ithaca has influenced the trajectory of my life, and I'm excited to connect with other alums and help make connections to Ithaca stronger for all!

Anything else?

My time at Ithaca from 2014-2018 was highlighted by my involvement in WICB (including as News Director and Station Manager), as well as ICTV (as a Newswatch producer and News Director, in addition to other production roles) I also worked in the Office of Admissions as a President's Host campus tour guide, and interned with NBC Sports during the 2016 Rio Olympics. Off campus, you could find me volunteering at the SPCA of Tompkins County, or enjoying delicious food at Viva Taqueria!
