Where do you live?
Hastings On Hudson, NY
What do you do for work currently?
I'm the Senior Director for Archives and Data Governance at ViacomCBS.
What did you learn at IC that helped you get to where you are today (personally or professionally)?
Working on shows for ICTV helped prepare me for problem solving and team collaboration, which I still use today. Holding both TA and RA positions while at Ithaca gave me leadership skills that prepared me for the business-world. Writing for the Accent section of The Ithacan fueled my passion for pop culture and knowledge which I draw upon daily at work. Becoming a DJ for 106-VIC instilled a life-long love of music and I still listen to the radio in my car.
How did you get involved with IC after graduating (did you volunteer? Did you speak in a classroom? Attend events?)?
I attended local Ithaca College information sessions for prospective students and parents, sharing my experiences at the school. I became involved with the metro-NY alumni chapter, attending events and eventually serving on the committee. I have attended almost all of the Network Night events in NY since my senior year, often using it as a place to recruit new team members or interns for my department. I've attended several Homecomings and my 10th and 20th reunions on campus.
Why do you love IC?
I love the strength of the alumni community, both professionally and personally. When you say "Ithaca College" in my industry, people know the value of the education and what it means. I treasure the friendships I made while at Ithaca that are still present in my life today.
Anything else interesting/pertinent that you’d like to include: (Are you close with other alumni? A professor you loved? Student orgs you were involved with?)
I'm so lucky to have an amazing community of fellow alumni from my time at IC and through connections made after graduation. We have continued to be there for each other for major milestones as well as meet-ups whenever one of us passes through town.
