K. J. Hammond ’16
OUTSTANDING YOUNG ALUMNI AWARD
This award is given to alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years and who are emerging leaders in their fields.
K.J. Hammond received his Bachelor of Science in Television-Radio from Ithaca College in 2016 and his MBA from Providence College in 2018. If you asked freshman K.J., "what's your plan for the next four-six years," he wouldn't even believe that the first sentence was possible.
He enrolled at IC in 2012 as a psychology major before stumbling upon ICTV in the Park School of Communications, becoming enamored with all the department had to offer, and immediately swapping majors. He spent the next four years honing his craft in front of the camera as on-air talent for Bombers Live, the sports segment on Newswatch, while also working behind the scenes as a producer for Hold That Thought.
Upon graduation, he received a full-ride to PC to continue his studies in a different field while also getting more reps in live sports production. Today, K.J. is the lead producer for Overtime Elite, a basketball league devoted to the next generation that trains and prepares athletes for the professional level. Games are streamed live on Prime Video, Bally Sports, & OTE YouTube channel to over hundreds of thousands of viewers every night.
Funny enough, if you asked K.J. today, "what' your plan for the next four-six years," he'd tell you, "anything is possible".
